America isn't perfect.
But nothing worth making starts finished. You prototype it, you test it, you get it wrong, you refine it again and again.
Capitalism keeps testing. Keeps building.
While socialism's promise is attractive, its prototypes have failed, again and again.
My partner in life and in business, Natasha, is Ukrainian-Russian. She didn't leave the Soviet experiment because it was almost working. She left because it wasn't.
I don't think of myself as an immigrant, but I am. Like millions before me - I didn't come here because America had arrived. I came because it never stopped shaping itself.
A better outcome, for more and more people. That's the promise.
But the moment a promise excludes someone from it, it's not a promise anymore. Didn't we learn that already?
We've spent our whole careers making things - testing them, breaking them, refining them until they're right. America works the same way.
Its greatest strength has never been perfection, but its relentless fight for something better.
