Angelus 2025 is one of the most refined and precise editions of the estate in recent years, with the continued shift towards greater purity, fresher Cabernet Franc expression and more restrained élevage transforming the style of the wine. 96-98 Points | Wine Advocate

A blend of equal parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2025 Angélus is already beautifully harmonious, even at this early stage. Unfurling in the glass with notes of sweet dark berries and plums mingled with notions of violets, licorice and spices, it's medium- to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with ripe tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. Much like its 2022 predecessor, the 2025 underlines that this estate's shift toward greater purity and subtler élevage choices can be sustained even in historically warm years.

Cassis, graphite, violets, iris, and a wonderful sense of minerality all define the 2025 Château Angélus, another ultra-classic Saint-Emilion from this address. It's a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with the Merlot raised in 60% new oak and 40% once-used oak and the Cabernet Franc split between 50% new oak and 50% foudre. Checking in at 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.6, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with incredible purity, classy background oak, integrated acidity, and a great finish.

95-97+ Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni

The 2025 Angélus (50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot) is a superb contemporary Grand Vin. Aromatic, vibrant and wonderfully fresh, the 2025 dazzles from start to finish. Blood orange, mint, white pepper, rose petal and chalk weave through layers of vibrant red-toned fruit. Here, too, the Grand Vin impresses with its noble purity and understated grace. Élevage is 50% foudre/50% new oak for the Cabernet Franc, and 60% new oak/40% once-filled barrels for the Merlot. I can't wait to see how this ages.

93-98 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2025 Lynch-Bages was picked 9 to 21 September and matured in 75% new oak barrels. This has a stunning bouquet with exceptionally pure blackberry, cassis and subtle violet scents, the oak seamlessly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with finely embroidered tannins, perfect acidity, a touch of cedar and black pepper that dovetails into a peacock's tail finish that “clings” to the mouth. This continues the strongest run from Lynch-Bages since the 1980s and, perhaps with the 2025, it is close to surpassing that.

Currants, smoky oak, chocolate, and hints of violets all define the 2025 Château Lynch-Bages, a remarkably balanced, elegant Pauillac from this estate that has more than a passing resemblance to the 2019. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has ultra-fine tannins and nicely integrated acidity, and it builds beautifully with time in the glass. It should have some reasonable accessibility, but as with most vintages here, the cellar will be your friend.

95-97 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

Cassis, graphite, chalky minerality, and spicy wood all define the 2025 Château Lascombes, a much tighter, more focused expression compared to the second wine. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from tiny yields of 25 hectoliters per hectare, harvested between September 8th and 25th, it's resting in 60% new French oak with a small percentage in foudre and amphora. Beautifully concentrated on the palate, it has full-bodied richness, ample tannins, and a great finish. This checks in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.59, and the purity here is first rate.

96 Points | Decanter

Chocolate, blackcurrant and vanilla with blackcurrant leaf, some liquorice and dried flowers on the nose. Grippy and filling but light on its feet in terms of tannic strength. You get the body, the concentration and the intensity but the fruit purity really stands out – blackcurrant, blueberry and black cherry with lots of fresh mint, graphite, cola and liquorice. Quite a stately wine with a streamlined finish. Still young and firm. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.6pH. A yield of 25hl/ha. 45% grand vin production.
