The Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur campaign is now fully underway, although activity briefly paused on Thursday due to the public holiday, which also meant Friday became a non-release day for most chateaux.
Even at this early stage, some clear trends are beginning to emerge. Wines released broadly in line with 2024 pricing, or only slightly above it, are being received very positively by the market.
So far, Batailley, Laroque and Pontet-Canet have been among the standout success stories of the campaign. Meanwhile, Cheval Blanc, helped by dramatically reduced production levels and huge critical praise, sold out with the Bordeaux negociants on the very first day of release.
We’ve now added regional categories, making it easier to browse the Bordeaux 2025 releases by appellation.

Bordeaux 2025: Comparing Critics’ Scores and Opinions
To round off a strong week of releases, we also offered the latest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from Chacra, wines that really sit in a category of their own. The reds are crafted by Pierro, grandson of the founder of Sassicaia, while the whites are made by Burgundy royalty Jean-Marc Roulot. Both offers can be found below. The special prices end after this weekend.
Finally, some big releases are coming next week with Cos d'Estournel 2025 on Monday. Scoring 97-99 Points, Jeb Dunnuck wrote “I'd happily put this up with the crème de la crème of the vintage”. You can read its reviews and see its scores here.
We wish you a nice weekend and hope you are popping the corks of some nice bottles!

Chacra Treinta y Dos Pinot Noir 2024
98 Points - James Suckling
97 Points - Wine Advocate
“Originating from vines planted in 1932 on silt-rich soils with sand and a small amount of clay, the 2024 Treinta y Dos is the densest, deepest and most powerful expression of Chacra, offering a beautiful counterpoint to the lighter and more ethereal Cincuenta y Cinco bottling. On the nose, it retains the fragrant floral quality that permeates the range, enhanced by a layer of dark-fruited, savory undertones that lead to a round, elegantly concentrated palate. It concludes with a similarly powerful, punchy finish lifted by ultra fine-grained grip, marking the only appearance of tannic presence in the Chacra lineup. With further aeration, it continues to develop additional dimension and an ever-increasing ethereal lift, causing it to slightly surpass the Cincuenta y Cinco bottling. This is a wonderfully executed expression of Patagonian Pinot Noir and serves as a reference point for the region.+

Cantemerle 2025
Gallonis overachiever of the year
95 Points - Decanter
91-93 Points - Galloni
“Quite a fragrant, aromatic nose, full of intense violets and irises. The Petit Verdot and the Cabernet Sauvignon really stand out in terms of aromatics. Vivid purple in the glass. Sleek and so svelte, this has such a silky, almost creamy texture, tannins are gorgeous and this has such a juicy, lively core. Nothing out of place here. Super accessible and one of the best primeurs samples for consistency tasted three times. Ends salty with a stony grip. Completed new cellar in July 2024 with 114 vats. The team used a thermal camera for plot-by-plot harvest in 2025. New label as this vintage. 4% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.6pH. A yield of 30hl/ha. 60% grand vin production. Ageing 12 months in barrel, 35% new wood.”

Cheval Blanc 2025
98-100 Points - Wine Advocate
“A blend of 51% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2025 Château Cheval Blanc stands out once again as among the finest wines of the vintage in Bordeaux. Wafting from the glass with a deep bouquet of dark berries and cherries mingled with notions of blood orange and iris, it's full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with terrific mid-palate density, sweet tannins and a long, vibrant, violet-inflected finish. With its striking aromas, intensity of flavor and resolutely classical proportions (checking in at 12.7% alcohol and pH of 3.76), the 2025 gives every indication of being one of the great Cheval Blancs of the decade.”

L'Evangile 2025
96-98 Points - Neal Martin
“The 2025 L'Évangile has been given new impetus by winemaker Juliette Couderc. It is initially backward, but it really comes forth with a few swirls of the glass: black cherries, mint and juniper berries, just a hint of truffle, quite vibrant and vivacious. Wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins, a fine bead of acidity, superb minéralité, as if there were a bit of limestone soil, but there is none. Very saline on the aftertaste with impressive length. This is a marvellous L'Évangile given the growing season, and it seems imbued with so much personality.”

Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2025
97-99 Points - Galloni
“The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc gets my vote for the white wine of the vintage. Rich and powerful in the glass, but also beautifully vibrant, the 2025 dazzles from start to finish. Lemon confit, pear, slate, mint, white flowers and tangerine peel are some of the many aromas and flavors that develop over time. The 2025 is quite simply stunning. Don’t miss it!”

Domaine de Chevalier 2025
95-97 points - Galloni
“The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier is a total stunner. The oak imprint is a bit strong, but the 2025 possesses notable richness and textural depth to handle it all. Signature red-toned fruit and floral overtones soar through the layered, expansive close.”

Kirwan 2025
95 Points - Decanter
“Great florality on the nose, juicy, succulent, crisp and ripe at the same time. This has energy and life, still compact and fully tannic but I like the confidence and upfront nature. They haven’t held back here but managed a fun, fruity, grippy and full of life style with refined edges and plenty of underlying power. Mint, liquorice, tobacco and wet stones on the finish. Very good. 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Carmenere complete the blend.”

La Dominique 2025
96 Points - Decanter
“Another excellent vintage from this trusty estate. A cool crystalline nose, cola, liquorice, tar and blueberries. So clean and pure. Crisp and focused from the off, a cooling menthol and blackcurrant element, soft grippy tannins and the most beautiful juicy mid palate that just makes you smile. A happy wine. It’s powerful no doubt but in a restrained way without any heaviness. Vibrant and energetic. I love the focus, the freshness and relatively delicacy. Filing in the month but this is exceptional in terms of fruit purity. Very drinkable. A yield of 30hl/ha. 3.68pH.”

de Fieuzal Blanc 2025
92-95 Points - Wine Advocate
“One of the more compelling white wines in Bordeaux in recent years, the 2025 Blanc from Château de Fieuzal unfurls in the glass with an attractive bouquet of pear, white peach, spice, flowers and ripe orchard fruits. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and dense, it’s built around a fleshy, seamless core of fruit, framed by racy acidity that carries through to a long, mineral and precise finish. It's a particularly successful rendition and among the more complete whites of the vintage.”

de Fieuzal 2025
94-96 Points - Wine Advocate
“The 2025 de Fieuzal, harvested between September 4 and 26, is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. It wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, mulberries, wisteria and flowers. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and precise, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit framed by velvety, finely grained tannins and concludes with a long, ethereal and perfumed finish. More structured than usual, it remains well balanced, supported by lively acidity and a subtle, gastronomic bitterness on the finish. It's a classical expression and one of the more compelling values in Bordeaux this year.”

Haut-Batailley 2025
95-97 Points - Neal Martin
“The 2025 Haut-Batailley was picked between September 8 and 18, matured in 55% new oak. This has a more intense, bolder nose than the Verso, graphite-infused black fruit that is Pauillac through and through. Razor-sharp. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, but there is gentle and insistent grip. Sapid, an Haut Batailley that evokes images of the Gironde Estuary, this is a marvellous contribution to the vintage, perhaps the best under Jean-Charles Cazes.”
