The Difference: Air Jordan 4 ‘Bred’

Flight Club takes a look at the Air Jordan 4 ‘Bred’ over the years. From Nike Air to golf outsoles to premium leather uppers, the AJ4 has been reimagined in a variety of ways.

The original from 1989 features a collar height that is a little higher than all of the retro versions.

Classic 'NIKE AIR' appeared on the original back heel in 1989, as well as the 1999, 2019 and 2024 Reimagined versions. A Jumpman logo is featured on the 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2021 editions.

The original release featured a fine nubuck upper, which was seen on many retro versions. The 2005 'Laser' and 2024 'Reimagined' are crafted with premium leather.

The original features a Nike and Swoosh logo on the outsole, which was seen again on the 1999, 2019 and 2024 Reimagined. A Jumpman logo can be found on all the other versions, including the 2021 Golf, which comes with a golf-specific outsole.

The original box featured a Jumpman logo with Flight script underneath. Over the years, the retros have arrived in different boxes, including the MJ face box, the Countdown Pack drawer box, the silver box and the new Reimagined 2024 box, which flips the colors on the lid and bottom.
