Dear Fool,
There is a construction site in West Texas that should be on every investor’s radar right now.
It covers 1,100 acres — so large it takes 25 minutes to drive around. More than 10,000 workers arrive every day, around the clock, to build what the construction crew themselves have nicknamed “Project Ludicrous.” Its official name is Stargate Abilene.
And it’s just the first of dozens.
Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are all racing to build similar “AI Factories” across North America — each one orders of magnitude larger than the data centres that powered Phase 1 of the AI boom. Meta’s Hyperion project in Louisiana is sized for one million AI processors. Amazon is negotiating for a site in the Texas Panhandle that could be nearly six times the size of Stargate.
The investment implication is significant. A traditional data centre generates roughly US$2 billion in supplier revenue. A single AI Factory like Stargate is projected to generate up to US$78 billion.² That’s 39X² more revenue — flowing to the companies supplying energy, cooling, networking, and computing hardware.
And here’s the part that matters most for investors: as of today, not one of these massive AI Factories has fully come online. The revenue hasn’t started flowing yet.
