🍑 As Frog Hollow Farm continues to celebrate 50 years, we’re reflecting on the role farmers markets have played in shaping our farm and connecting us with our community.
From the very beginning, Farmer Al was drawn to farmers markets because they created something missing from much of the food system: a direct connection between growers and the people eating their food. Those conversations, relationships, and moments of shared appreciation for great fruit have remained at the heart of Frog Hollow Farm ever since.
Over the years, Farmer Al became involved in helping the farmers market movement grow, serving on the founding board of the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association and later helping establish roots at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, where Frog Hollow Farm has been a founding farm since 1993. 🌱
For decades, farmers markets have been a place to share tree-ripened fruit, learn from our customers, and celebrate the connection between food, farming, and community. They continue to remind us why we do what we do!
