Ex-Amazon exec moves his startup's HQ to Texas, with some thoughts for Seattle

Going, but not gone: Auger CEO Dave Clark has moved the fast-growing startup’s headquarters to Dallas, two years after launching the supply chain company in Bellevue, where it will keep and expand a 115-person engineering office. The former Amazon operations chief said the move is about talent and family, not taxes, but he had a warning for the region he’s leaving: “It’s not preordained that these big companies stay in town.”

Off road and off script: Seattle autonomous vehicle maker Overland AI is opening an engineering outpost in the Bay Area, flipping the long-standing dynamic between Silicon Valley and the Pacific Northwest when it comes to hiring talent.

Seattle wellness startups unite: Viome has acquired Circulate Health for an estimated $15 million to $50 million. Viome offers microbiome test kits, personalized health supplements and a test for oral and throat cancer. Circulate provides therapeutic plasma exchange, a circulatory-system tune-up aimed at increasing longevity. The deal is meant to expand the combined company’s reach and advance wellness and longevity research.
