"So, what do you wanna be when you grow up?" Ask any 11- to 24-year-old, and you’re very likely to get one answer: influencer. |
And look, I get it. Why have a stuffy corporate job for 40 hours a week when you could post luxury PR hauls for your millions of followers and get flown to Turks & Caicos on a lavish Tarte trip in a private jet? ✈️🏖️ “Try being an influencer for a day!” |
But according to new data, the influencer fantasy might finally be losing its grip on the next generation. Scroll down to find out why—and what the new dream job is. 👀 |

Amazon Business |

Your Business Errands Just Got a Whole Lot Easier 📦 |
Running a business (or side hustle) means way too many impromptu trips to Target for packing envelopes, shipping labels, printer ink, and whatever else you run out of mid-order. |
There's an easier way: Amazon Business, which unlocks business-only pricing, bulk buying with quantity discounts, and the fast, reliable shipping you already know and love from Amazon. Plus, tools to help you track spending, streamline approvals, and keep everything organized as your business grows. And did we mention it’s completely free to start an account?! 😮 |
Right now, new customers get 20% off their first order (up to $100), plus access to business-only pricing on everything from office supplies to tech. |

Young Adults Have a New Dream Job, and It's Not “Influencer” 😮 |
According to PacSun's second annual Youth Report—conducted with analytics firm GlobalData, surveying over 6,000 Americans ages 11 to 24—being an influencer is no longer the top career choice for young people. |
Last year, "influencer" topped the list at 22.2%, well ahead of healthcare careers at 19.4%. This year, the numbers flipped: interest in influencer careers slipped to 18.8%, just barely edged out by healthcare at 19%. |
So, what does this tell us about the current state of the job market? |
It’s fascinating because influencing has always been perceived as one of the "easy" jobs. What’s so hard about getting paid to film your life and upload it to the internet? |
But that’s not the case. Being an influencer means being a one-person business entity—except the product is you. You’re always on the clock, since your personal life is the content. Every post is open to public scrutiny and online vitriol, and there's no HR department to shield you from it. You're negotiating your own brand deals and contracts, often without an agent or manager, all while chasing an algorithm that can tank your income overnight with zero warning. And unlike a traditional job, there's no steady paycheck, no benefits, no PTO, and no safety net if it all falls apart. |
Meanwhile, healthcare, often perceived as one of the hardest jobs, is having a real moment of stability. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, six of the ten fastest-growing U.S. jobs over the next decade fall under healthcare and social assistance—led by nurse practitioner roles, which are projected to add nearly 138,000 jobs by 2035. |
It's also one of the few sectors considered relatively resistant to AI disruption, unlike fields like data science and computer research, which the BLS flags as having "very high" AI exposure. |
So maybe this generation is ready to prioritize stability over virality. And after watching the influencer dream lose some of its shine, honestly? Who can blame them? |

What Team Girlboss has been loving lately. |
|
🍓 The collab we didn't know we needed: Tower 28 x JELL-O dropped a Lip Jelly gift set, complete with exclusive (and highly addictive) Strawberry and Lemon-Lime scents that smell just like your favorite jiggly childhood snack. |
✨ Taking collagen shouldn’t feel like a chore. Great Lakes Wellness’ unflavored, quick-dissolving powder blends easily into your coffee, smoothies, or water. No funky taste or clumping! All while supporting healthier skin, hair, nails, and joints.* |
☕ Look no further—your new fall/winter scent has arrived! DedCool’s Mocha Magic is the brand's most decadent fragrance yet, blending rich espresso and creamy mocha with notes of biscotti, toffee, and tonka bean. We’re not drooling, you’re drooling! |
🌹 Social Media Manager Cheska picked up this rose syrup from a farmers market in Houston, and it's genuinely the best she's tried—it’s made with real rose water (so there’s no artificial aftertaste). She's been adding it to matchas, coffee, cold foams, and even her buttercream. |
🧴 You already know and love Briogeo (their talc-free dry shampoo is elite!), but did you know that the founder, Nancy Twine, launched a new haircare brand? Soulstice is all about hydration (we need to get our hands on the Buttersilk™ Restorative Mask)—and it’s actually affordable. |
