Lessons Learned Through Travel

I never wanted to be a tour guide. When I started Girls’ Guide back in 2009, I dreamt of a content site focused on my version of Paris - hence the name Girls’ Guide to Paris. But of course, I found out that providing free content doesn’t pay well.

It was 2011 when I did my first tour. I feared dealing with people who were entitled - and yes, I’ve met a few of them over the years. But 95% of the women I’ve gone on trips with have taught me some of life’s most important lessons, plus I’ve learned some useful things as well.

I have finally learned to be more patient—at least more often than not. I always bring my best self on tour, but in my daily life at home I'm not always as patient as I'd like to be. 

Patience has been a lifelong quest. Kindness and empathy have become my guiding lights. But I’ve also gleaned a lot of great advice from many impressive ladies over years, and I continue to learn on every trip. Learning and growing keep us alive and vibrant, wouldn't you agree?
