There’s no getting around it—more sustainable clothes do cost more than fast fashion. 

We’ve gotten so used to seeing fast fashion brands pricing t-shirts for as little as $3, for instance, that it has almost become the norm. But ultimately it’s not sustainable, and taking care of workers and the planet means brands need to price their products accordingly. 

That said, it is a spectrum, and some more sustainable brands are offering a more accessible price point. This week, our editors have curated their favourite top-rated ones, alongside hoodies and sweats under US$100. And if you’re on a budget, check out our guide on shopping second-hand, which can often be cheaper than buying new.
