Strata Prosecco 2020

KING VALLEY, VIC

Prosecco is the Queen Bee of sparkling wines in Italy. But this Aussie number from the King Valley in Victoria gives even the best examples of this famous Italian fizz a run for their money! It's easygoing and perfectly pitched. There's some gentle fruit sweetness that is balanced by plenty of lime, grapefruit and green apple. It has a soft texture and a gentle finish, and the bead is pillowy. Perfect for any occasion.

Lots to enjoy from this vibrant Pinot Grigio - a zesty, bright wine with plenty of fruit and charm. It starts with fresh lime and green apple, with a little hint of white daisies and elderflower. Juicy, almost tutti-fruiti in its appeal. There's some more complex crushed rock notes, and it finishes with plenty of crisp and mouthwatering freshness.

Morala Rosé 2021

RIVERLAND, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

As soon as we found out the grapes used in this rosé were from a 25 year old Grenache vineyard, we knew it was going to be a real winner. But what really dropped our jaws to the floor? When we discovered it was only $15. According to your ratings, you felt the same way too. This rosé pours pale pink in the glass and bursts with a mixture of citrus, peach and berry flavours, but quite tangy as well. Juicy and light, clean and dry, it's an absolute slam dunk. 

Pete's Pure Pinot Noir 2021

MURRAY DARLING, NSW

This is not Pete's Pure's first time on a highest rated wines list. Year after year, this maker's juice continues to outperform its same-priced counter parts. And if you love smooth, fruity reds with barely-there tannins, Pete's Pure Pinot Noir is already talking your language. This plush Pinot has a wonderful mix of aromas and flavours, at first delivering raspberry and cranberry, then backing it up with dried flowers, vanilla, wet leaves and a touch of mint. It's crunchy and fresh, and almost too easy to drink...

Monterra 'M Block' Shiraz 2021

FLEURIEU PENINSULA, SA

There are many faces to Shiraz, and this one? A powerhouse Shiraz that was built for the BBQ. Plenty of dark black cherry and cooked plum fill the palate with a solid framework of oak, holding the wine together and bringing charcoal, vanilla and coconut to the fore. Whiffs of black pepper and lavender flit across it as well, making it that much more complex and generous. It's easily one of the best value bottles of Shiraz we've seen in a long time.

A Grower's Touch Durif 2021

RIVERINA, NSW

Bold, beautiful and unapologetic. This is one seriously big wine with weighty member ratings to match. Durif is a semi-obscure grape that makes characterful, pitch-black wines. Even long-term Shiraz fans are recognising the appeal of the incredibly dark and powerful Durif. And this fine example is everything we love about the grape! It is powerful, inky and dense, with velvet-smooth tannins complementing a rich palate filled with vanilla, chocolate and a hint of coconut. Gorgeous.
