Hello,
If, like me, you're not basking on the beach this week, here's a consolation. Be among the first to browse our burgeoning bin end selection. The quality of wines on offer is superb, prices start below £10, and there are some fat discounts of up to 50% (even more on one or two of them).
A bin end list can be a mixed bag, but it just so happens that there are lots of very suitable summer-drinking wines here, including several excellent rosés, as well as barbecue-friendly Malbecs. The reason for discounting these is to make room for new vintages or producers, and all come highly-recommended.
Quantities of individual items are limited, and when they're gone, they're gone. Have a look ASAP for the greatest selection, and if you're chained to your desk, avail yourself of these before the beachgoers get home!

∙ ROSÉ XINOMAVRO, KIR-YIANNI ∙
Xinomavro is a great variety for rosé wine, since it retains its distinctive personality, even after only brief maceration on the skins. This has lip-smacking tart strawberry and herbal aromas, and bright, fresh acidity on the palate. From vines grown at 600 metres elevation in northern Greece.
£9.90 per bottle when you order any 12 bottles (£11 individually, reduced from £16)

∙ SUSANA BALBO SIGNATURE ROSÉ ∙
As with all her wines, Susana Balbo crafts her flagship, ‘Signature’ rosé with admirable delicacy and lightness of touch. It’s a lovely potpourri of redcurrants, strawberries, rose petals and a cashew butter creaminess. Susana’s ‘Crios’ Malbec Rosé is also very good, and a little less expensive.
£14.40 per bottle when you order any 12 bottles (£16 individually, reduced from £25)

∙ PIKES GRENACHE ∙
I know I've gone on a bit about this, but I make no apology, especially since we finally have the weather to enjoy it slightly chilled. Light, but by no means simple, it's a super-soft, juicy, lip-smacking style, with generous raspberry, redcurrant and red cherry jam fruit notes, as well as dried herbs, mint and a touch of Aussie eucalyptus character. The next vintage has now arrived in the UK, hence the discount on the last few cases of the 2020.
£11.70 per bottle when you order any 12 bottles (£13 individually, reduced from £19.50)

∙ BENMARCO EXPRESIVO ∙
At 4,265 feet elevation, Gualtallary's intense sunlight and cool climate work in concert with calcareous soils to produce wines of extraordinary intensity and structure, coupled to vivid fruit and taut acidity. The aptly-named Expresivo is bright and fresh, with highly distinctive blackberry, pink pepper and violet aromas. It stands out for its stony notes, vibrant acidity, firm tannins and exceptional balance. A fabulous wine, it offers outstanding cellaring potential. Along similar lines, we're down to the last few cases of the iconic Iscay Malbec Cabernet Franc, which is also reduced in the bin end offer.
£23.40 per bottle when you order any 12 bottles (£26 individually, reduced from £42)

∙ BAROLO MOSCONI, CONTERNO FANTINO ∙
There’s no pretending that this is a summery wine, but it’s nearly all gone, and half price (when bought as part of a 12-bottle order), so you’d better grab what you want now, and tuck it under the stairs. With serious concentration and structure, this Barolo from the Mosconi ‘cru’ has an immediately complex and concentrated nose of both fresh and dried cherries, as well as cranberry, toasted oak, iron, liquorice, star anise and vanilla. The flavours in the mouth are every bit as complex – rosehips, black and red liquorice and a rich, chocolatey character.
£49.50 per bottle when you order any 12 bottles (£55 individually, reduced from £99.50)
