We are delighted to present to you the 2025 Annual Year Box! As we celebrate our upcoming 75th anniversary next year, our 2025 annual year box is a particularly significant edition of this annual tradition.
The design is inspired by the Greek legend of “Alycone and Ceyx” from which our name is derived. The legend tells the story of Aeolus, father of Alcyone, who every January calmed the winds and the waves so that his daughter, in the form of a kingfisher, could safely make her nest. Hence, the term “halcyon days” came to signify a period of great peace and blissful contentment.
The lid of this box depicts Alcyone swooping down over her beloved Ceyx. This box has been beautifully handcrafted in England by our Halcyon Days artisans and is the 49th edition of this cherished annual tradition.
