Dear Friend,

Last week, I wrote about Wayne Dyer’s birthday, and I’ve been thinking about him a lot since then.

Then on Sunday, I saw a monarch butterfly.

For many people, that might not mean much. It was just a butterfly going about its business.

But for me, monarch butterflies have always felt like one of my signs from Wayne. So when I saw it, I smiled.

It felt like one of those little moments when the world gets quiet for a second and something in you says, “Pay attention.”

A few days later, I received an email from Marcelene, Wayne’s wife. She told me she had received a sign from Wayne too. Her alarm clock was blinking as if the power had gone out, but every other clock in the house was perfectly fine.

Now, I know some people will read that and say, “Come on, Reid. That’s just a glitch.” And maybe it was.

But I also know that when someone you love has passed away, you don’t always need a huge miracle. Sometimes you just need a little reminder that love doesn’t disappear just because the person is no longer sitting across from you.

Hay House author Robert Holden told me recently that he feels Wayne is constantly sending him signs and reminders. I loved hearing that, because it feels very Wayne to me.

Wayne was always teaching, encouraging people, and reminding us to look at life a little differently. So the idea that he may still be doing that doesn’t surprise me very much.

Of course, I know there are people who think we’re making these things up. They may be right. Maybe our hearts are just looking for comfort. Maybe our minds are connecting dots. Maybe the butterfly was just a butterfly and the clock was just a clock.

But here’s what I’ve learned: not every meaningful thing in life has to be proven to matter.

If a sign from someone you love brings you comfort, helps you feel connected, or reminds you that you’re not alone, I think that’s a beautiful thing.

And honestly, I think the best signs help us live more fully, not less. They remind us to appreciate life, stay connected to the people we love, and pay attention to the small moments we might otherwise miss.

So this week, I’d encourage you to stay open.

Maybe there’s a song that comes on at just the right moment. Maybe you notice a bird, a butterfly, a number, a dream, or a phrase someone says that sounds exactly like something your loved one would have said.

You don’t have to convince anyone else. Just notice it. Smile. Say thank you. Let it bring you whatever peace it came to bring.

And if part of you wonders, “Am I just making this up?” you can borrow my answer: maybe.

But I like my signs anyway.

Have a great week.

Wishing You the Best,
