Dear Highlights Friends,
With so many parents challenged to help their children with at‑home learning now, it's safe to say that teachers have never been so appreciated as they are in this moment. So, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we've created our newest offering of free, Fun with a Purpose resources called Thank You, Teachers!

I'm sure that you, like me, have memories of teachers from your childhood who left an indelible impression on you. Teachers are an enormous influence on children, and we know that your children are most likely missing theirs.
Here, along with the school‑themed puzzles, stories, and crafts, we offer some suggestions for ways your kids can show appreciation for their teachers.
Thanking them is not only a nice thing to do for the teachers, but it's also good for your kids. Showing appreciation is a simple but important practice of gratitude, and research shows that people who regularly pause to reflect on what they are thankful for are people who tend to be happier, healthier, and more optimistic.
Thank You, Teachers!

At Highlights, we believe learning happens at every turn, in all the classrooms of life — at school, in the virtual classroom, in nature's classroom, and at home. So, parents, be sure to show yourself some love for all the effort you're putting in as your child’s at-home teacher.
I’d love to hear how this program is working for you, and how you're managing in general during this pandemic. You can reach me directly at [email protected]. From all of us at Highlights, stay healthy, and stay hopeful. We're going to get through this together.
Warmly, Christine French Cully, Chief Purpose Office and Editor in Chief
