Confessions of a Candle Snob: Vol. 16

Hi there,

I was doing some late night online shopping the other day (as one does) and as I landed on a retailer’s website I did a double take: fall candles. Already. In July.

I get it, I really do. But I’m one of those people who refuses to rush a season, and this summer especially, I’m just not ready to let it go. So consider this a very biased PSA: burn your summer scents while you still can.

Since we got back from Nantucket, things at HLC HQ have been quieter than usual, in the best way.

We’re spending the next few months out east in the Hamptons, heads down and gearing up for September. Between finalizing the Holiday collection, a new scent launching in the fall, and a hotel collaboration we’ve been sitting on for over a year (I really wish I could say more, but you’ll have to wait), it’s shaping up to be a big Q4.​

But anyway, back to summer: the Summer Collection has officially returned. The seasonal favorites that disappear every year (looking at you Capri, Positano, Poolside) are home again, and I’ve missed them.

Our summery scents in general have been selling faster than we expected. We’re down to our last 30 Racquet Club candles (!), our last 43 Miami candles, and we have roughly 50 Island candles left, with the next restock a couple of months out. If you’ve had your eye on any of those three, this is your gentle nudge to snag ‘em.

Now tell me: how soon is too soon for fall candles? I’m genuinely curious where everyone stands.
