The Weekly Brief

Hailey Bieber and SKIMS Just Makes Sense

🔥 Meet the Latest Muse: SKIMS is kicking off the summer with some major star power. The brand launched its latest campaign for its beloved Everyday Cotton collection, and the face of this one is none other than Hailey Bieber.

📸 Shot by Mert Alas: Lensed by legendary photographer Mert Alas, the campaign captures Bieber in the brand's premium cotton essentials. Sporting matching bralettes and briefs in pastels and neutrals, including a brand new "Peony" pink shade, the model, beauty guru and bona fide it-girl is selling the SKIMS fantasy this season.

🤝 Kim's Seal of Approval: In a press release, Kim Kardashian said "Hailey has a unique ability to make even the simplest pieces feel elevated. Her approach to style is effortless, which made her the perfect person to bring Everyday Cotton to life."

It's a (Luxury) Boots Summer

Blokecore Lives On: The fashion industry is known for preying on the trends that blow up on social media, reimagining them in premium fabrics and reselling them to you for triple the price. Since the rise of blokecore, nearly every major fashion house and designer has made their own version of a football kit.

👟 All About the Boot: The luxury football boot is an anomaly in the sport, lying somewhere between a collectible and a utilitarian item. Luxury brands have no choice but to go through the original manufacturers to create an item that everybody wants, yet barely anybody has the guts to wear.

💸 Luxury's Tapping in: Despite the museum-like glorification of these designs, we are seeing more and more of them every season, now adopted by our favorite luxury brands. But where did it all begin?

Balenciaga Collabs With Substack

👌 Sponsoring... Substackers? Teaming up with the home of the newsletter, aka Substack, the fashion house just announced a partnership with the platform's native sponsorship program.

🤔 But Why? "Balenciaga has a century-long history of innovation, and I’m proud that it continues to forge ahead as a cultural catalyst, empowering creativity and new channels of independent thinking, embodied today with this Substack partnership," according to the brand's CEO.

🥇 The First to Ever Do It: According to the brand's press release, Balenciaga was one of the first fashion brands to launch a Substack profile in July 2025, and now, a full year later, it joins the platform as an official partner, making it the first fashion house to do so.
