Help Bring Renowned Writer Flannery O’Connor to Film and Television

Catholic Alliance for Film Arts, which includes Ignatius Press, has partnered with Good Country Pictures to promote through financing and publicity Five By Flannery, an anthology feature film of five of Flannery O'Connor's most beloved masterworks including "The Life You Save May be Your Own" and "Revelation". These timeless short stories of grace and the grotesque are populated with misfits, saints, shysters, and holy fools, all while scrutinizing race, faith, and morality. Set in Georgia and steeped in the Southern Gothic tradition that is synonymous with O’Connor’s name, these stories bring to life an utterly unique, sometimes brutal view of life - infused with spirituality, haunted by apocalyptic possibility, sustained by the tragic comedy of human behavior, and confronted by the necessity of salvation.
“[Flannery O'Connor] shows man (us) in our fallen state - no cosmetics applied - and thus our need of Redemption. But she writes as one who knows the victory has been won. And, oh, can she write!”
