Things have been busy at the Tower office! Our fully remote team met each other for the first time this year in beautiful Berlin, and many great ideas (and laughs!) were shared. Check out our brand-new Beta page to see what's coming soon to Tower.

We would also like to recommend two new resources that we think will be of great interest: a tutorial on how to sign commits with SSH keys (since more and more people have been asking for it!) and a complete guide on Git performance, something that we feel is not talked about enough.

Happy reading! 😊

P.S. Upon returning to our home offices, we were thrilled to learn that Tower is one of the nominees for "Best Developer Tool" at the Swift Community Awards!

Integrating 1Password SSH with Git and Tower
When 1Password 8 was released, a new SSH agent was introduced. This is great news because it enables you to generate and import your SSH keys directly within the app.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to configure SSH for remote operations and how you can sign commits with SSH keys.

Say goodbye to GPG keys! 😎

You may be familiar with ".gitignore" and LFS, but have you heard about Sparse Checkout, Garbage Collection, or Shallow Clone? If you don't, you're in for a treat!

Take a look at all the performance improvements you can make to speed up your Git repository.
