Hey there!
It's Sam D'Amico, Impulse CEO and Founder here 👋.
I bet you’re wondering how a small, independent company made the highest performing stove.
It started with me trying to build the world's most powerful personal pizza oven in my basement, for fun. I wanted to recreate the magic of a mouthwatering pizza from a brick oven – within a tabletop, 120 volt device.
In this pursuit, I discovered some very real limitations around home appliances and a major gap in innovation. Turns out, home appliances, stoves specifically, hadn’t seen fundamental performance improvements since induction was introduced 50+ years ago.
This led me down an unexpected path that ended with … batteries. And like that, it was suddenly more than just an extremely powerful pizza oven, it was a stove with an incredible cooking experience, it could lower my electric bill, and avoid an expensive electrician visit. Hardware engineering is wild that way.
🔋 A nobler pursuit was born! 🌍
Pizza ovens are great and all (and maybe stay tuned there…), but I needed to think bigger. Turns out, there’s a massive opportunity in leveraging electrification not just as climate change mitigation, but a path to introducing higher performing products and better experiences. With a lot of work, research, and feedback, the idea behind Impulse and the concept for our first product was born. And here we are - launching our first product, the Impulse Cooktop, this year.
The Impulse Cooktop brings more power to you –
⚡ The most powerful stove: it can boil a liter of water in 40 seconds!
🍳 Uplevel your culinary skills with industry-leading temperature sensing technology.
🔋 Energy efficient and resilient: charge the battery when energy is cheap for use during peak hours AND cook during power outages.
🔌 Easy to install: works with standard kitchen connections, 120V and 240V, so no electrical upgrades required.
🏭 A first step to fundamentally transforming the electric grid for a high-power future.
