Hello PicoPC Backers!
As mentioned in our last update, from March 13 to 20, Shenzhen, the city where our factory is located, was under complete lockdown.
In the past week since, pretty much everything has reopened, but many places still require 24 hour test results to enter residential, office and factory buildings. We're getting used to the chaos of following all the regulations, but hopefully things get back to normal next month.
Heatsinks Refabricated
The good news is that the heatsinks have been refabricated. We couldn't use the previous batch due to the mounting holes not aligning up. The new batch of nearly 3000 heatsinks should be delivered early next week.
The remaining metal housings will also be delivered (around 400 pcs).
Injection Molding Tooling Modifications
We are redoing the tooling for the plastic spacer piece pictured below:
While only 4pcs of the 100 units we assembled had an issue with the tolerances of the spacer, pieces, we've decided to redo the tooling and replace all of the spacer parts. The issue with the 4% spacer pieces was that they were too lose and would press the power button when the HDMI cable was inserted or removed. We're really glad that our QC team caught this issue and we should have the plastic spacer parts ready within the next week.
Retesting Fans
We're also doing another 100% testing on our fans. We found a few issues on several of the fans during our endurance testing: Testing videos
This 100% re-inspection should be completed in around a week as well. Here are the fans we sent to our factory in Dongguan.
Packaging Internals
We're adjusting some of the EVA in the packaging as well. The charger was moving around when we did a shake test. This packaging's internal EVA modifications should be ready by next week as well.
We also have designed packaging stickers so our warehouse workers can tell what memory capacity, color, power adapter plug type is packed in each box. We designed the stickers during the lockdown week.
Regarding backer surveys
If you completed your survey, and haven't changed addresses, or don't want to add-on any accessories, then you don't need to do anything.
If you want to purchase a Win10 Pro license, purchase a carry case, or other accessory then you can add-on still here on the backer survey. You can also update address info now as well. Once we start shipping early next month, it will be hard for us to adjust your shipping details / add-ons, so please complete your survey if you still haven't already.

What if I don't see the email yet?
Check your spam folder. If you use Gmail, sometimes your invite will go to your "Promotions" tab. If you still can't find it, search your inbox for "PledgeBox"
If that doesn't work:
1. Click -

2. Click "Request New Invite"
3. Enter your email address (the one you pledged with)
4. Wait at least 10 minutes - then go to your email, open the invite, and click the giant button to confirm all your goodies
Regarding the license add-ons, if you purchased the Win10 home license, we'll upgrade you to Win10 Pro license automatically. Win10 Pro is more stable so we went with the Pro OS. Pledgebox add-on still reads Win10 Home, but we're installing Win10 Pro on the units. Once you activate your license, there will be a prompt for you to upgrade to Win11 for free. Our office computers are running Win11.
