Charlie Kirk and the Gift of Rest
By Sara Lamm
A year ago today, the world lost Charlie Kirk far too soon, in a senseless act of hate. Above anything else, he was a man of God, a husband to his wife Erika and a father to two small children, a daughter and a son, both still toddlers when he was murdered. Charlie was also the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, an organization he built to promote conservative values on college campuses across the country. Charlie was only eighteen when he started it in 2012, and over the next thirteen years he grew it into one of the largest youth movements in America, hosting a daily radio show, traveling constantly to speak on campuses, and raising millions of dollars a year to sustain the mission. He was thirty one years old when he died. By every outward measure, he was a man who rarely stopped.
25 years after 9/11, three men who lived it are sitting down to tell their stories.
A national security expert. A teenager who celebrated that day and later left Islam. A brother whose sister never came home from the towers.
