Dear -,

I didn't try to stop him.

When my son told me he was going to Israel to enlist in the IDF, I didn't argue. I didn't beg him to stay. I knew, the moment he said it, that nothing I said would change his mind. October 7 did something to him that I couldn't undo with words.

So I helped him pack. I drove him to the airport. And when he walked through those gates, I stood there thinking one thing: He will be all alone.

No family. No one to call if something goes wrong. No one to make sure he has a warm home and a hot meal on Shabbat.

For months, that thought kept me up at night.

He fought in Lebanon. Two weeks in the field, no contact, no news. God kept him safe through his deployment.

But when it ended, he had nowhere to go.

No family apartment. No mother's cooking. No place to fall apart for a few hours before he had to be strong again. Just a young man coming back from war with nowhere to land.

Then I heard about Beit Daniel. Beit Daniel is a home in Israel for lone soldiers like my son. Not a dormitory. Not a program. A real home.

Five floors in Ramat Beit Shemesh. Private suites. A dining hall where soldiers gather every Friday night for a Shabbat dinner together. A wellness office staffed by army psychologists. Rabbis who know every soldier by name. A family.

Someone made that possible. Someone like you.

And now, this is your last chance to do the same for the 28 soldiers still waiting for a spot in Beit Daniel.

They came from America, England, Australia, and beyond. They left their families. They went to war. And when they come off base, no one waits for them.

Your gift gives them Beit Daniel.

It gives them the room of their own. The home-cooked meals. The rabbi who picks up the phone at midnight. The Friday night table. The family they left behind when they chose to defend the land you love.

For soldiers still waiting, your gift makes the difference between coming home to nothing and coming home to family.

These boys chose to fight for the land you love.

This is your last chance to make sure they have a home to come back to.

Donate today.

With gratitude and prayer,
A proud mother
