A soldier walks away from you down a stone street in the new Israel365 Calendar, his rifle at his side.

At first, the scene looks familiar. Then you notice how the artist fills his silhouette with the city itself: the Western Wall, the domes of the Old City, and the blue and white of Israel’s flag across his shoulders.
He carries Jerusalem within him.

Above him appear the words: "He neither slumbers nor sleeps, the Guardian of Israel" (Psalm 121:4).

The artist calls the piece Stand With the IDF, and each time you look at it, you find something new.

That captures what makes the 2027 Israel365 Calendar different from the calendars we have created before. Instead of filling its pages with photographs, we chose original artwork.

The calendar features sixteen original Israel365 works of art, each paired with a biblical verse and an insight from Jewish tradition.

Because a photograph of a soldier shows you a soldier. This artwork shows you what, and whom, he carries.

The same thing happens in Jerusalem in Pastel Light. Beside it, Psalm 122:3 describes Jerusalem as "a city knit together," and the Sages explain that Jerusalem unites the people of Israel in friendship.

The artist brings that teaching to life through interlocking houses: coral against mint against cream, with roofs fitting tightly into one another. You see the teaching before you even read the words.

Then comes Beneath the Palm of Deborah, with Deborah seated beneath an enormous palm as the hills of Ephraim stretch behind her.

In Vineyards of Judea and Samaria, rows of vines run toward the mountains across hills that remained barren for centuries.

The calendar also includes Jewish holiday guides and marks every Shabbat, festival, and weekly Torah portion.

Sometime around the third week of the month, you may find yourself standing in the kitchen simply looking at the artwork.

I think that alone makes it worth a nail in the wall.
