Dear -,

This Friday night, Jewish families around the world will sit down for Rosh Hashanah.

We will hear the shofar and ask God to remember us for life. We will pray for health, for peace, and for a year filled with blessing.

I've been thinking about what one of those prayers might sound like:

Please give me enough.

Enough food to feed my children.

Enough to fill the table.

Enough that I don't have to choose between groceries and the bills waiting on the counter.
For many Israelis, that isn't an abstract fear. It's everyday life. Across Israel, 1 in 3 children now lives with food insecurity.

A mother looks at the prices in the grocery store and quietly puts something back. A family wonders how they'll make what they have stretch through another week.

And then Rosh Hashanah arrives. The holiday doesn't erase those worries. It makes them harder to ignore.

This Rosh Hashanah, you can make sure they have enough.

Israel365 is working with Chabad in Kiryat Yovel, a neighborhood in southwest Jerusalem, to get food to families already struggling to put food on the table.

You can change what this holiday looks like for someone. You can put food in a cupboard and take one worry off a family's shoulders.

  • $150 fills a holiday food basket and sends it to a family's door.
  • $70 seats one person at the Rosh Hashanah table.

That may be the most meaningful thing any of us can do as we enter a new year: make sure someone else has enough.

Help Feed an Israeli Family.

May the shofar awaken all of us to what matters most. And may God bless you and your family with a year of health, peace, sweetness, and abundance.
