The Story Behind the Wines

An article recently written by the New York Times highlights the Jacuzzi's rich family history and pioneering spirit. We've named a few of our wines after Jacuzzi family members to pay homage to our history.

Pina Prosecco

Giuseppina Jacuzzi

The only wine we import is named after Giuseppina Jacuzzi, often called by her nickname, "Pina". An Italian Immigrant herself, she was the wife of Valeriano Jacuzzi and Grandmother of Fred Cline.

Valeriano

Valeriano Jacuzzi

Valeriano was a founder of the Jacuzzi company and has multiple patents in his name. He taught his grandson, Fred Cline, how to farm grapes and make wine on his ranch in Contra Costa County. We named our flagship Super Tuscan in his honor.

Giocondo's Grenache

Giocondo Jacuzzi

Giocondo was a founder of the Jacuzzi company alongside his brothers. In 1921, he was killed in a plane crash on a return trip from Yosemite. The picture shown is one of the last photos of Giocondo (far left) and the 3 other passengers in Yosemite.

Gilia's White Wine

Gilia Jacuzzi Peruzzo

Born in 1908, Gilia Jacuzzi was the youngest of thirteen siblings. In 2007, Gilia cut the ribbon during the opening ceremony at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. Gilia passed away in 2014 at the age of 105.
