Hi ,
in addition to a limited edition Small Fold Tops we just made in a requested special combination, I wanted to send a slightly unusual message and point you toward another company’s campaign.
The Vesikko submariner sweater which we designed in collaboration with finnish brand Alpa, is currently in their product of the month campaign.
We also sell Vesikko ourselves, but Alpa has this campaign running still for a little over a week. Frankly, it's an insanely good product, and even at full price it’s “maybe the best piece of clothing I own”, as a friend of mine put it a couple weeks back.
I’ve worn my own Vesikko at least 300 days over the past four years, some say a little too much, but what can I do, it rocks and still feels pretty much as good as new. With the risk of oversharing, for the first three months I basically lived in it, and with just airing out, the alpacka wool stays fresh.
So easily my most used piece of clothing, unless I count caps and beanies. In winter it's an indoor piece and a mid-layer. In spring, summer, and autumn as a warm outer layer or mid-layer. And an excellent sailing sweater for the northern summers, while still looking great in everyday use. Vesikko works equally well for both men and women.
The background to this is that we started using Alpa’s alpaca wool knits in 2021, and together with Janne we couldn't stop praising to each other how good the alpacka wool both felt and worked. Everyday wear and outdoor use. So we picked up the phone and called suggested Heikki from Alpa, that maybe we should design a model or two for a more adventurous lifestyle. This led to the world’s first alpaca wool “submariner sweater,” Vesikko, with a raglan type sleeve for extra mobility. These have since become permanent hits in Alpa’s collection.
