I am very happy with the sailcloth. I am impressed with the quality of the fabric and construction. I have installed it rather unconventionally, I think, as a rainwater drainage system under a deck. I was looking for some way to shed the water so we are able to occupy the space under the deck while it is raining. This is proving to be a pretty good solution.

  • Two things: First, when I first installed it, I did not create a steep enough slope so the rainwater collected in the middle of the cloth instead of running off the downward edge. I reinstalled with a more significant slope and it now works great!
  • Secondly, when I reinstalled it with more slope, I turned the cloth so the unfinished side that shows all of the stitching is visible. That is, the finished smooth side is facing up under the deck. I did this because the stitching on the cloth is pretty substantial and I was concerned that it might interfere with the rainwater running off as I wanted. So I installed the smooth side up to reduce any obstructions to the flow of the water.

I will be taking it down at some point to clean it, and I may reinstall it with the unfinished, or stitching side, up to see if the water still runs off without any interference. With the dramatic slope I now have, I think it should work fine. (But, actually, I don't think most people will notice the stitching. I showed my wife and she said that she would not have even noticed or thought about it had I not pointed it out to her.) In addition to recommending heavier duty water resistant sail cloth, I also highly recommend purchasing the appropriate stainless steel hardware kit as well. In my mind it is an absolute must.

Great company and product. The best customer service quality and workmanship.

Nicely made and waterproof. I recently purchased a high end, engineered shade structure. It was not waterproof. I put the KGorge tarp over it and it is perfect.
