We only see a Blue Moon about every two and a half years, when there are either two full moons in a single calendar month or four full moons within one season between a solstice and equinox. In folklore, mysticism, and spiritual traditions, Blue Moons are associated with heightened intuition, illumination, emotional intensity, reflection, transformation, and the release of emotional weight. In honor of last night’s Blue Moon, we gathered together a collection of lunar rituals for the inspired period ahead — aromatherapy for rest, shimmering balms and oils that catch the light like moonlight, sacred smoke for deep reflection, and nocturnal florals harvested in the intuitive hours after dark.

Using a blend of time-honored herbs and botanicals known for their calming effects, the soothing, natural scent helps ease stress, anxiety, and the deep emotional fatigue that so often lingers at day’s end. Each candle is hand poured in Brooklyn, New York and the sculptural vessels are hand blown in Chicago. The impressively weighty solid glass spheres that top the candles recall the scrying orbs once used to summon visions from gods and spirits, when glass was seen as a portal between worlds.
