The New Arcana Candle

Part of our brand new home collection, the blown glass Arcana Candle is softly sculptural, gently shaped by hand during the heating process to give it an organic form. The candles come in four translucent shades that can stand apart or sit together to create an altar of atmosphere and glow. Each candle is hand poured in the USA by renowned Brooklyn-based fragrance house Joya Studio, using a clean-burning soy wax blend from the US and natural fiber wicks. The vessels are each hand blown individually by the team of glass artists at the Ignite Glass Studios in Chicago.

Our candles are created with the same spirit and ethos that we have poured into our Slow Beauty over the years. We use natural scents created in collaboration with an American fragrance house that has decades of experience translating botanicals into nuanced scents for the home. They are intentionally softer in their diffusion than many conventional candles. Rather than relying on synthetic fragrance boosters or aggressive aroma chemicals, we use natural aromatic materials that unfold more gently and beautifully in a space. The effect is subtler, more atmospheric – designed to enhance a room, not overpower it.

The Arcana comes in four distinct scents – one ancient, resinous, and spiritual, built around sacred materials long burned in ritual and meditation. One green, earthy, and balancing, drawing on the calming effect of forests, moss, and living things. One is sensual and aphrodisiac, composed from flowers and woods historically associated with warmth, intimacy, and desire. And one is cool, herbaceous, and deeply restorative, created to quiet the mind and gently settle the nervous system into rest.

Each candle includes a talisman of luck from classic Americana, a small hand-stamped, deadstock aluminum touch piece with some of the candle poetry pressed into it.
