Miss Thornton was one of those teachers you never forget.
When I was 14, she accompanied us on a school trip to Costa Rica. I was missing my mom, so she affectionately declared herself my “Costa Rica mom” and made sure I felt cared for throughout the trip.
All these years later, she is still just as encouraging.
After receiving her order, she wrote to tell me how much the family behind La Marcotterie comes through in everything we share. She reminded me that I had taken a leap of faith, believed in the path I wanted to follow—and that I deserved the success that came from it.
Coming from a woman who inspired and cared for me when I was younger, those words meant more than she probably realizes.
It’s a very special feeling to know that someone who once cheered me on as a student is now cheering me on as an entrepreneur—and enjoying the soaps we make here at La Marcotterie.
