Hi friend!

It's been a while since I've written – I've been waiting to find the right words for what this past year since closing MARY YOUNG has taught me.

If you've been here since the beginning, you know that MARY YOUNG was never just about lingerie. The whole goal, the entire mission, was to help women feel confident in their natural shape. To take back the narrative of who lingerie was for. Not wearing it for someone else, but for yourself.

And from that, the Self Love Club was born. What started as conversations about the body – about self-love and acceptance in that context – naturally evolved into so much more. We talked about grief, friendship, confidence, fulfillment. All the things that come up when you're trying to figure out who you are and what you actually want.

That became my favorite part of MARY YOUNG. Not the products but the conversations, the community and the realness of it.

When I closed the brand, I knew I wanted that part to live on. But the logistical side of my brain couldn't figure out how. Or what it would look like. Or if it was even possible.

so I stepped back.

This past year has been a lot of unearthing. Pulling back layers. Figuring out what matters to me as a person – outside of a career, outside of success, outside of what I've built or accomplished. And the thing I kept coming back to, over and over, was this:

Helping others feel seen. Valued. Loved. Supported. Empowered.

That part of me that existed with MARY YOUNG, that became the Self Love Club – that's my biggest why for doing anything I do.

And it's quietly brought me to where I am today. All that pulling back brought me to a concept that feels like it's been sitting inside me this whole time, just waiting for the language:

building a life you respect
Not necessarily just one you love – because that can feel like the highlight reel version of life. But one you respect.

The one where you navigate hardships and still love yourself – still show up for yourself. The one that might be your dream life in a lot of ways, but there are still areas you're growing. Areas you're changing and at the same time, areas that are hard. Building a life I respect has become my new approach to everything I do.
And it's given me permission to have "both, and."

I can both love my day-to-day and want more for my future self.
I can both rest and have ambitious goals.
I can both be figuring it out and still moving forward.

On that note, the Self Love Club isn't going anywhere.

this is Self Love Club 2.0
It's the same work, the same heart, just deeper and more intentional - more real. And I wanted you to know that.
Things are evolving – slowly – a pace I'm still learning about. And I want to take you along with me if you're interested.

If you want to keep following along, you can read the explorations I've had around this on my substack – a great place to start is 30 days of building a life you respect. And of course on instagram – plus some lessons and takeaways on youtube.

More to come soon. But I wanted to start here – with you – taking it back to where it started and the path ahead.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for being you.
xx –Mary
