2. Reality-check your market. Skim 10 postings for the role you want next and notice which skills and credentials keep showing up. When hiring slows, requirements creep up.
3. Name your ONE gap. Not five. One. The single credential or skill standing between you and the next role or raise. (For most project professionals, it's still the PMP — certified PMs in the US earn a median $135,000 vs. $109,157 for non-certified, per PMI's latest Earning Power salary survey.)
4. Set a 90-day target, not a December wish. "Get certified someday" fails. "Sit for the exam by October 15" works.
