Hello ,

I hope you’re well and have found cool places to shade from the intense heat.

I'm a little late in sharing my gratitude for June as there has been rather a lot of celebrating and my heart is full. It was a month of celebration, reflection and gentle reminders that the things we treasure most are rarely things.

In June, Bittu and I celebrated 35 years of marriage. We marked this milestone with a garden party, surrounded by family and friends. One of the most beautiful traditions of an Indian wedding ceremony is walking seven times around the sacred fire. These seven circles, known as the ‘Saat Phere’, represent seven promises that a couple makes to one another, not just for a day, but for a lifetime. Standing here 35 years later, I felt blessed that something in us chose to make these promises over and again, through joy, uncertainty and heartbreak. We all have our journey and no matter where it takes us, the reminder is we must remember to appreciate and celebrate the small wins as well as the big ones.

This day made me consider two things that matter to me: commitment and rituals. Commitments can be made not just to our partners but to all our relationships. What is the commitment you have made to your friends, colleagues and community? Consider what you give and where you make others feel honoured.

Then there are rituals. They aren't about perfection or tradition for tradition's sake. They are gentle anchors that help us return to what matters most. Whether it's lighting a candle, taking a mindful breath, oiling your hair or sharing meals around the table, our daily rituals quietly become the architects of our lives.

In June, we were also honoured to be named Best Ayurvedic Skincare Brand by the Global Health & Pharma Awards, adding to an incredible 10 awards we've received so far this year. Every recognition reminds us that staying true to our values is always worth it, and we couldn't have achieved any of it without your belief in what we do.

On a more personal note, one of my greatest joys this month has been watching the next generation create memories of their own. Seeing our son Marni complete university and head off on a London to Brighton bike ride with Bittu for the British Heart Foundation, it reminded me how quickly time passes. We spend so much of life wishing for what's next that we sometimes forget we're living the moments we'll one day long to revisit. So, please let’s enjoy the journey, wherever it takes us.

So here I pause to thank you for welcoming us into your rituals. Thank you for every order, every kind message, every recommendation to a friend and every story you've shared.

And let’s remember, the beauty of living is not found in extraordinary experiences, but in the ordinary everyday moments and rituals we share with those we love. With that, I leave you with one of my favourite poems. Wishing you a beautiful summer full of ordinary moments.

Make the Ordinary Come Alive

Do not ask your children

to strive for extraordinary lives.

Such striving may seem admirable,

but it is a way of foolishness.

Help them instead to find the wonder

and the marvel of an ordinary life.

Show them the joy of tasting

tomatoes, apples, and pears.

Show them how to cry

when pets and people die.

Show them the infinite pleasure

in the touch of a hand.

And make the ordinary come alive for them.

The extraordinary will take care of itself.

By William Martin,

With love and gratitude,

Anita x
