Hey Guest,
This summer I'm taking us back to basics and diving into the MCreativeJ blog archives. Each week you'll receive a highlight on a specific embroidery topic.
This week, I thought I'd start us off with transfer methods. I chose this topic because you can’t really embroider without having a pattern. Well, I guess you can, but it’s a lot easier if you have a pattern on your fabric. So how do you do that?
There are many different ways to transfer an embroidery pattern and it kind of depends on the materials you are using. In one of my earliest blog posts I shared seven different transfer methods. This post highlights some of the many options to choose from and offers pros and cons.
In another blog post I share specific methods that are best for dark fabrics. I love using pattern and colored fabrics in my projects. When transferring a pattern to darker or patterned fabrics, some methods work better than others.
And for you visual learners, like myself, in this blog post, I share a video of how to use a few different transfer methods. I understand that knowing about and seeing how things are done are two different and important parts of the process.
Hopefully these blog posts help you find different methods of transferring your embroidery pattern and help you figure out what method you like best for your next project.
Happy stitching -Melissa
