Hi -,
Travel season is here and my family did not wait for an invitation.
In about an hour we are loading up the car for a nine hour drive to North Carolina. My firstborn nephew, honestly my first son in spirit, is graduating eighth grade, and there is nowhere else I would rather be.
I say nine hours loosely. What I mean is nine hours plus however many times we need to stop because I'm traveling with my son and parents who have very strong opinions about rest stops. We will visit every single one between here and North Carolina.
Personally and thoroughly. LOL
But here's what I've learned about long drives: your body doesn't forget them. Hours in a seat, the same position, the same tension quietly building in your hips, your neck, your lower back. You arrive somewhere you love and you feel like you need a day just to recover from the getting there.
So this time I packed differently.
I have my MELT Therapy Balls in the car with me. Not in a bag in the trunk. With me. Because somewhere around hour four, when my hands start feeling the grip of the steering wheel, I'll pull one out and do a little hand treatment right there in the seat. I've done it before and it works. Small thing. Real difference.
The MELT Travel Roller is coming too, for the hotel. And my Fascia Hydrator, especially for my neck after hours of holding my head in the same position. These three tools take up almost no space and they mean I actually feel like myself when I get there.
The bag holding all of it? The Nobl Weekender. I saw Sue with it first and immediately understood why. The travel roller and Fascia Hydrator both fit inside, no awkward straps hanging off the outside, no checking a bag. It has compartments that actually make sense and yes, it fits a laptop because a girl sometimes has to check in while she's away.
Beyond the MELT tools, here's what else made the cut this trip:
Luna Daily Travel Body Minis Kit
Complete head-to-toe routine in travel size. Hydrating wash, spray-to-wipe, all-over deodorant. Clinically tested. This is the one I got
-
Lineage 100% Grass-Fed Beef Sticks
Because we will be stopping at every rest stop on I-95 and I refuse to eat whatever's in that vending machine. Clean protein, no seed oils, no sugar, no fillers. Regeneratively raised. My favorite is the Spicy Southwest. Find them here
-
Prequel Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50
We're going to the beach. Zinc oxide, bioactive antioxidants, absorbs clean. Non-negotiable. This is the one I use
Eby Wireless Front-Close Bra
Long drive. Last thing you want is an underwire making decisions for you. The support is genuinely impressive and comfort is not something I'm willing to compromise on a nine hour trip. The one I wear
Case-Mate Blue Crochet Tote
Waterproof, folds flat, perfect for the beach or running errands. And honestly? It's just really cute. Take a look
Before I go, I want to leave you with something Sue put together because it's exactly the kind of thing I wish someone had handed me before my first long drive.
It's called the 5 Minute Travel Recovery Reset and it's five simple movements you can do at a rest stop, in a hotel room, or right before you get in the car. No equipment, no special clothes, just your body and a few minutes of intention.
Save it to your phone here or follow along on YouTube if you prefer to move with her.
Consider it your travel companion.
From us to you, before you go anywhere this summer.
🌿 Your Radical Self-Care Moment
Wherever you are right now — sitting, standing, driving — roll your shoulders back once. Drop your jaw. Take one slow breath.
Notice where you've been holding without realizing it. That's enough for right now.
