There are places that lend themselves to certain kinds of brands. And then there are places that feel, almost uncannily, like they've been waiting for them.

Abbot Kinney is one of those places — and Merz b. Schwanen is thrilled to join the community with our new store.

OUR STORES

Behind an aged metal roll-up door, the store reveals itself slowly. Narrow, almost alley-like, the space was once a ticket office for the Venice canals.

A sibling to our flagships in Berlin and New York City, the store features an original teak wall shelving system, designed by Poul Cadovius in Denmark, and carefully restored by Danish Apriori in Berlin. Built in the mid-century, these unique pieces create a cohesive feel between our stores, continuing our ethos of timeless design.

Across from the teak wall, a small vitrine offers a glimpse into our storied history. With a few original pieces from 1911, including parts of one of our loopwheelers, the showcase is a key feature of the store. Continuing our heritage, the store is partially illuminated by a series of lamps designed by German brand Bolichwerke, also founded in 1911.
