Jonel is 11 years old and a child full of life, with a curious gaze and an energy that can inspire anyone around him. He lives with a motor disability that prevents him from walking, but it hasn’t stopped his love for football.
Thanks to the special bond with his older brother Alberto and the insight of their mother, a dream took shape: to create a free and authentic space for Jonel where he could express himself through football, without barriers.
It all started simply, in the living room at home: two brothers, a ball, and football played while sitting. From that carefree moment came the idea of Sitting Football, a project that came to life in southern Milan, thanks to the involvement of ASD FatimaTraccia and the enthusiasm of many young volunteers, turning a family intuition into a sporting and social experience for everyone.
Today, for Jonel, the football field has become a place of freedom. Sitting and taking the lead. Part of a team and a community that continues to grow, involving other families, educators, and coaches.
In this space, physical limitations lose their power, making room for play, connection, and a sense of belonging to something greater.
