Across the Mesozoic Era, many aquatic reptiles hunted and prowled, but few seem better suited to the job than the Pliosaurus. These aquatic predators, a branch of the Pleiosauria order, boasted large skulls and short necks unlike their relatives. This efficient body plan allowed for quick and strong movements.
These new fossils are large bone sections from a Pliosaurus recovered in the Kimmeridge Clay Formation in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. They date between 152,000,000-157,000,000 years old, back to the Jurassic Period. These are fantastic fossils in beautiful condition and each includes a certificate of authenticity.
