A few years ago, British mathematician James Hind decided to create a mathematical formula for the perfect snowman. I have a feeling that he had a deadline he was supposed to meet because that sounds like exactly the kind of thing someone would do when they’re avoiding work! 

In any case, we now have precise measurements for the ideal snowman, written out in complex equations. Hind says a snowman should be precisely 5.3 feet tall made up of one 11.8 inch snowball, one 19.6 inch body ball and one 31.4 inches. He even declared that the carrot nose ought to be 1.6 inches long, which I personally think is a criminally short nose for a snowman.

I’m no mathematician, but I have a few ideas about what makes the perfect snowman, and in my opinion today’s Deal is the perfect place to start!

The Missouri Star Frosty Friend Embroidery Panel is a preprinted 100% cotton 42”x44” washaway fabric panel that will help you make a cute quilted wall hanging and set of pillows! You’ll also get a customizable quilt label, embroidery instructions, and a pattern for adding pieced borders to the panel and pillows. 

The sample project uses two charm packs from the Frosted Wishes collection by Jerry Khiev for Island Batik (CP6126), and one 10-gram ball each of Missouri Star #8 Perle Cotton - Imperial Blue (TR7263) and Blue (TR7223). Charm packs and thread not included. You'll also need 1/4 yard of inner border fabric and 3 1/2 yards of backing fabric.
