WELCOME, AMBASSADOR
Andrew Kellaway
M.J. Bale is proud to announce Wallaby and Melbourne Rebels rugby player Andrew Kellaway as our new sustainability ambassador. The 26-year-old is on a journey to make the Rebels an Australian sports leader in the sustainability space, saying “It’s about being a little better every day.”
READ OUR INTERVIEW
Last month Andrew travelled to our Kingston farm in the northern Midlands of Tasmania to observe our second zero-emission wool trial, in which Kingston custodian Simon Cameron and farm manager Andrew Buckby feed 500 Merino sheep a daily asparagopsis seaweed supplement to reduce their methane emissions to undetectable levels. “I’m sure it was difficult to set up in the first place,” Andrew says of the asparagopsis feed, “but Simon has obviously refined his process and, you know, with a little bit of help from some PVC pipe, seems to have it down pat.”
“When I look at sustainability… I look at it as really little things. It's not necessarily just about climate change, it isn't just about reducing waste. It's about being a little bit better all the time. So, if I'm being honest, I think there's so much room within my own life – professionally and personally – where I can be a little bit better… And if we all look after our own backyard, things will be looking pretty good.” – Andrew Kellaway
