M.M.LaFleur is having a pretty great 4th of July sale, with up to 70% off sitewide. Sweet as pie! Summer is in full swing, and if you’re anything like me, dressing for the heat can feel like… a bit of a feat. Especially living in a commuter city, where the subway is somehow warmer than the swamplands in Florida, yet the office is as cold as the Arctic circle. The best way to tackle that? A great dress.
The thing is: I’m not looking for just any dress. I’m looking for the Swiss Army knife of dresses—one that I can just as easily wear to the office, to brunch with my friends, and to the airport during morning rush hour. A jack of all trades. Enter: The Maaza dress. The Maaza is that summer Swiss Army knife. She’s knee-length (hello, summer legs), with cap sleeves and crew neck (sweltering heat, who?), petite-friendly (fun-sized girls, rise up), and made from M.M.LaFleur’s iconic machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant OrigamiTech fabric (a real winner, IYKYK). Simply put, she’s perfect. OH, and the best part? She’s included in M.M.LaFleur’s 4th of July Sale, so you can try her on for size (literally). With such an adaptable, knock out piece in my closet, I have found many ways to wear her at work, for happy hour, and even the occasional red eye home to Miami. The Magic City is quite swampy, so this dress is a GAME CHANGER for when I step off the plane, into the mucky, humid South Florida air. And listen, I am not one to gatekeep my outfits, because I truly believe that when you look good, you feel good, and as a result, you do good. So here are my top 3 favorite ways to wear the Maaza: THE OFFICE LOOK
I’m a huge fan of blazers thrown over dresses, so this look is one of my go-to’s. It’s simple, yet chic. Polished, but fun. In other words: this is the look that will have your colleagues going, “Not only is her mind sharp, but so is her style.” What I love the most about this look is how quick and easy it is to get ready. Slip on the Maaza and throw the Moreland blazer on top and you’re ready in seconds. Plus, the silver touches really bring this outfit together. Alternatively, you can swap the silver flats for red ones for a nice color pop, or black flats to give it that elevated, corporate Wednesday Addams vibe (minus the macabre). Now you’re dressed and ready for a day that starts with meetings and ends with a networking dinner. Voilà. Because I know you’re wondering: Yes, the Moreland is also part of our 4th of July sale. Just spreading the word! THE BRUNCH LOOK
The first time this outfit idea came to me, it was in a dream (I’m so serious). The next morning, I tried it on and absolutely fell in love. While the Maaza is a more polished dress, throwing the Mel cardigan and some cowboy boots on really helps make this a more casual, weekend-ready look. I’ve worn this to brunch, and let me tell you, the amount of compliments I got really filled my bank for the rest of the year—and I want the same for you, so if you’re looking to turn some heads and collect some compliments, you’re going to love this one. I’ll admit, I have worn this look to the office, too—and so should you! Get a little funky with it. I’ve dubbed this “corporate cowgirl chic.” Yeehaw. You’re going to love this: the Mel cardigan is also part of the 4th of July sale. THE AIRPORT LOOK
Raise your hand if you love early morning flights. No one? Anyone? That’s what I thought. Which is why this look is the one I’m almost always reaching for when hopping on a flight in the early morning. Because let’s be real: waking up early is hard enough, now we gotta add TSA, flight delays, and air turbulence to the mix? No way. If you haven’t had the chance to meet the Merritt Jardigan, you definitely should. Putting her on feels like a cardigan (so soft, so smooth), yet she holds her shape and stays polished, just like a jacket. Now you can hop off the plane at LAX with a dream and a jardigan. I’d also argue that you can wear this exact look to a cozy night in with your closest friends—sipping on some natural wine, eating imported cheeses, and doing a 1,000 piece puzzle. Cheers! Wait, before you go: You must know that the Merrit Jardigan is also at a discounted price during the 4th of July sale, so if you’re ready to experience the wonders of the Merritt, add her to cart now and thank us later.
