Hi friends,
Before Modern Adventure, before kids, before all the beautiful complexity of building a life and a business together, Jo and I spent much of our twenties leading active trips through America’s national parks.
We hiked the trails. Loaded the vans. Cooked the camp meals. Watched guests see Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, the Southwest, and many others, with open eyes. Those years shaped us in ways we still carry. They taught us that wonder does not always require crossing an ocean. Sometimes it is right here, waiting in the canyon light, the alpine air, the quiet bend of a river.
This summer, we’re thinking a lot about those places again.
Yellowstone. Grand Teton. Yosemite. Glacier. Zion. Bryce. The Grand Canyon. Sedona. Santa Fe. The red-rock country of the Southwest.
These are not trips built around checking parks off a list. They are private journeys designed with care, access, and rhythm. The right lodge or glamping. The right guide. The quiet trail before the crowds arrive. A long lunch after a morning hike. A float down a river. A night sky so clear it makes everyone put their phones away.
For families, couples, and small groups of friends, this can be the best kind of summer travel: active, grounding, easy to reach, and full of the kind of moments that stay with you.
A few places we’re thinking about now:
- Yellowstone & Grand Teton
Wildlife, wide-open space, fly fishing, private guides, alpine lakes, and days that feel both grand and deeply simple.
- Yosemite & the Sierra
Granite walls, hidden trails, swimming holes, stargazing, and a landscape that still has the power to stop you in your tracks.
- Glacier & Montana
Big sky, cold rivers, horseback rides, mountain lodges, and some of the most cinematic hiking in the country.
- The Southwest
Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Santa Fe, and the desert in all its strange and beautiful forms. Red rock, ancient stories, clear mornings, and unforgettable sunsets.
Each journey is custom-built around the way you want to travel: how active you want to be, how much comfort you want at the end of the day, and what kind of summer you want to remember.
If you’re still thinking about what to do this summer, we’d love to help shape something extraordinary, close to home.
With gratitude,
Jo & Luis
