No Cooler Was Light Enough. So I Built One.

Imagine you're staring at your cooler, wondering if it's worth the hassle. The bulk. The weight. The space it takes.
I had that moment every day guiding fly fishing trips in Wyoming and Alaska, hiking miles upriver with gear on my back. Every cooler on the market was either too heavy or too bulky to bring, so I left them behind every time.

Then I moved to San Francisco. Whether it was biking to the beach or Ubering to a picnic, I had the same problem: traditional coolers just didn't fit the way I actually lived. I figured if I had this problem, other people did too.

Dozens of prototypes later, and tens of thousands of coolers sold, I'm a dad in Charleston with two golden retrievers, needing hassle-free gear more than ever. Some things don't change.
The Shasta is the backpack cooler I wished existed back then. It fits in your bag and goes where you go. No more "is it worth bringing a cooler today?". It's effortless.
