Act Now: Congress must stop Trump’s latest weapons sale to the Israeli gov’t

It’s hard to argue any ceasefire exists in Lebanon at this point. The Israeli military has killed at least 400 people and destroyed more than 10,000 homes since a pause in the violence there was announced last month.

While the devastation grows there and violence simmers across the West Bank, Gaza, and beyond, the Trump administration just bypassed Congress to push through yet another set of arms sales to multiple governments across the Middle East. That includes nearly $1 BILLION in U.S.-made offensive Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems for Israel’s military.

In the past, a weapons sale like this might have gone through without issue. But the tide is turning, and the number of lawmakers willing to vote to block weapons sales to the Israeli government is increasing.

This shift didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of years of nonstop advocacy to upend a broken status quo that enables harm and suffering, and we’re not stopping now. Today, we need to band together and make sure Congress hears the massive, growing public outcry demanding that they stop this and other deadly deals.

Tell your lawmakers to BLOCK Trump’s weapons sale to the Israeli government.

Influential members of the Israeli government have laid their plans bare: “We are building the Land of Israel and destroying the idea of a Palestinian state in our heartland,” said Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich at a recent ceremony to celebrate a new settlement in the West Bank.[1] Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared: “The fate of southern Lebanon will be the same as that of Gaza.”[2]

Adding more weapons to an already volatile situation will make no one safer.

It’s not too late for Congress to act and avoid escalation and harm. Instead of staying on the sidelines, lawmakers can challenge the emergency declaration and vote to block the sale.

The U.S. government took a huge step toward ending U.S. complicity in the Israeli government’s violence last month when 40 senators voted to block the sale of bulldozers. Today, let’s hold that coalition together and keep pushing for more lawmakers to join them.

That starts with sending your lawmakers a message demanding they stop this deadly weapons deal. Tell Congress: Block the sale of deadly weapons systems bound for the Israeli military!

It’s people who refuse to accept endless war and violence as inevitable that will build the safer and more just world we all want and deserve.
