Don't believe it.
Yes, there's a ceasefire. But the Strait of Hormuz was already open before Trump started bombing. What this war has left behind is staggering: countless civilian deaths, cities and infrastructure destroyed across the Middle East, and regional instability that could last for generations. Trump supposedly wanted to shut down Iran's nuclear program, yet there's no resolution. Trump's war has pushed Iran's leadership further toward extremism. And U.S. taxpayers are on the hook for at least $90 billion, while oil prices remain sky high, enriching Vladimir Putin.1
A ceasefire is only the beginning. What's on the table right now is an outline of principles—not a final peace treaty, not a binding agreement. The hard diplomatic work hasn't even started. And with this administration, there's every reason to worry about what comes next.
We cannot allow politicians to keep dragging us into endless conflicts while families struggle with the cost of groceries, rent, and health care. We need to make our voices heard—loudly, visibly, and without apology.
