Dear MoveOn member,
Last week news broke that Todd Blanche violated the law when the Department of Justice blocked a reporter, Katie Phang, from accessing records related to Epstein's case—including those that potentially implicated Trump.1
The case against Blanche just keeps stacking up, as examples of his blatant corruption continue to emerge. Blanche, previously Trump's personal defense attorney, is unfit to be the next Attorney General.2
As Trump’s right-hand man who played a key role in the Epstein cover-up, who was the mastermind behind Trump’s slush fund, and who spearheaded the legal battle over Trump's vanity ballroom project, it's clear whose interests he would represent as Attorney General.3,4
The administration's continued failure to provide transparency and release of the Epstein files is a breaking point. The DOJ isn’t concerned about bringing justice to survivors—instead, it is concerned with protecting Donald Trump, and the wealthy and powerful few. And insiders in Washington say that it was Blanche who was responsible for many of the delays and botched releases related to the Epstein files.5
Shielding Epstein’s co-conspirators by obscuring critical information from the public should be disqualifying for Attorney General. Will you add your name to the petition to demand the Senate block Todd Blanche’s nomination now?
Blanche went as far as to interview Ghislaine Maxwell—Epstein’s partner in crime—while she was actively trying to receive a pardon. Shortly after the meeting, Maxwell was moved to a minimum security prison where she is "much happier."6
It’s clear whose side Todd Blanche is on and it’s NOT with the people. After months of delays and chaos in Congress—we have yet to see any real accountability for any of Epstein’s co-conspirators.
Survivors have been forced to relive their trauma every day while our country’s justice system fails them. Nineteen Epstein survivors spoke out against Todd Blanche—stating "Blanche failed to deliver transparency, and he has gravely failed survivors. This is failing upward, plain and simple."7
Our nation should have an Attorney General whose number one priority is bringing justice for the people. Instead, Todd Blanche is focused on protecting Trump and his legacy. Will you sign the petition?
To be successful in blocking Blanche as the next Attorney General, we will need a groundswell of opposition from MoveOn members and beyond. Our senators need to hear our message loud and clear that we oppose turning the DOJ into Trump's personal law firm—and there will be consequences for their support of Blanche. A vote for Blanche’s confirmation is a vote against the American people.
The American people deserve answers. We deserve a full confirmation hearing that lets us see Blanche for who he truly is. And every Senator should vote against Blanche’s confirmation and hold him accountable for his dangerous abuses of power.
Will you sign the petition now to block Todd Blanche’s nomination as Attorney General? Sign now, and share with three friends.
Thanks for all you do.
