This year’s NDAA cannot pass

An eye-popping $1.1 trillion for the Pentagon made this year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) unjustifiable.

Section 219, a one-of-a-kind provision to effectively fuse the U.S.-Israeli militaries and weapons industries, made the bill highly suspect.

Now that Speaker Johnson has caved to the right wing of his caucus by merging the must-pass NDAA with the SAVE Act — Trump’s craven attempt to restrict voting access ahead of the midterm elections — it’s outright dangerous.

This year’s NDAA cannot pass, but if we want to stop a must-pass bill like this in its tracks, we have work to do.

Legislation like this historically advances without a fuss. But with over $1 trillion for Trump’s and Hegseth’s warmongering, an insidious military alliance, voter suppression legislation, and more wrapped up in the FY27 NDAA, this is no time for business as usual. Luckily, a groundswell of opposition from constituents like you is waking lawmakers up.

Speaker Johnson just cancelled the NDAA vote while scrambling to keep his caucus aligned, giving us a window to keep pushing as the House heads into July recess. Tell Your Rep: Vote NO on the FY27 NDAA.

We’ve been building resistance to the FY2027 NDAA at every step of the process.

People don’t want Congress to fulfill one cent of Trump’s record-breaking $1.5 TRILLION Pentagon budget request, and a $1.1 trillion NDAA is a horrible step in the wrong direction. We don’t want more taxpayer dollars used to enrich U.S. and Israeli weapons contractors. We don’t want the SAVE Act to make it harder to vote.

That’s what the House NDAA is set to do — and that’s why we’re only working harder to stop it.

Our plan — our pressure — is working. An unprecedented 12 members of the House Armed Services Committee voted against passing the NDAA out of committee — an act of opposition congressional reporters called “stunning” and said signaled “troubles ahead.”[1][2]

As Speaker Johnson feels the heat on all sides and delays this vote, we need to go further. It means urging our champions to dig deeper and flex the power of their coalitions. It means pushing lawmakers who are on the fence to reject this backwards bill. It means reminding out-of-touch Reps. who are hellbent on voting “yes” that their constituents are watching. And it requires speaking out NOW:

Before the House votes, send an urgent message to your Rep. today demanding they REJECT the NDAA.

Thank you for working for peace,
