Long before “clean beauty” became a trend, I was researching ingredient safety, formulation standards, and the cumulative impact of everyday personal care products on our health.
At the time, very few people wanted to hear it.
When I self-published Truth in Beauty in 2018, many in the industry dismissed the conversation entirely. But this week, a newly published peer-reviewed study confirmed something I’ve been speaking about for decades.
In the study, 103 women replaced their conventional personal care products with cleaner alternatives for just five days. The results showed significant reductions in exposure to several commonly used chemicals, including:
– a 64% drop in a common preservative metabolite
– a 39% drop in bisphenol A (BPA)
– a 30% drop in methylparaben
Five days.
Not through perfection. Not through extreme changes. Simply by changing the products used daily on the body.
I’ve written a
new piece on Substack breaking down:
– what this study actually found
– why these findings matter
– what it means for your skincare routine
– and why this conversation becomes even more important during pregnancy and hormonal transitions
The science has always been there. We now have one of the largest and most rigorous studies yet to reinforce it.
If you care about ingredient integrity, long-term wellness, and making informed choices about the products you use every day, I think you’ll find this worth reading.
Warmest,
Mukti
