The Brawler Selvedge feels like the kind of denim that belongs in an old black-and-white photo: worn hard, faded unevenly, covered in texture, and built with very little concern for comfort. Itâs our heavyweight reimagining of the slubby, rugged denim fabrics worn throughout the 1940s.
Inspired by vintage mid-century workwear fabrics, it takes the irregular texture, hairy surface, and deep indigo character found in classic denim and pushes it into a beefier 17oz construction designed to feel denser, tougher, and more aggressive from day one. The kind of denim that already feels broken-in before it has even faded. And yes, probably the kind that could survive a bar fight, though we
still wouldnât recommend testing that theory.
Part of what gives the fabric that rough, lived-in character is the cotton blend itself. Made from 80% regular cotton and 20% recycled cotton, the mix combines longer staple fibers with shorter, more irregular ones, creating a surface with visible slub, subtle neppiness, and a texture that feels raw in the best possible way.
